I don’t know why they are calling it Civil Rights Act, but where I come from it’s referred to as Affirmative Action. That is what twenty firefighters — 19 white and one Hispanic — are fighting. They were denied promotions in New Haven, Conn. and claim city officials discriminated against them because they were more concerned about potential complaints of Civil Rights Act violations than their performance on advancement exams.
I guess the word for it would be that it is case “reverse discrimination.”
The Supreme Court is expected to issue its ruling tomorrow June 28th, in a case that could have bearing on the nomination of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor

The big deal about this case is that Sotomayor was one of the three appeals court judges who ruled for the city in the unanimous decision in the lower court.
Sotomayor’s views on race have been the focal point of criticism as she seeks a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land. Sotomayor’s confirmation hearing is currently scheduled to begin on July 13.
Lets hear it for the “Firemen”, who are sticking it to the woman!
For those of you who don’t know yet: I lost my house to a fire department that was trying to put out my van and a 120 lb. black woman endangered my life while doing it. Which lead to Bill Clinton changing the patent laws on me, and the corruption has taken away everything in my life ever since.
Let’er rip guys!
IWYL and I’ve got my fingers crossed to boot….
