Assemblyman Michael Duvall

Spank Mike Duvall/Moron of the Day

September 13, 2009

Orange County Assemblyman Michael Duvall, resigned after inadvertently broadcasting explicit remarks about his sexual conquests over an open microphone. Duvall said his resignation was not an admission that he had an affair.

The thing that gets me is that he would have been bragging about having an affair with two women who happen to be lobbyist. Reporters have put 2 & 2 together and determined that one of them worked for the San Diego-based energy firm Sempra.

Sempra Energy spent $800,000 lobbying California government in the first half of this year and was interested in 170 pieces of legislation. The firm, which frequently takes lawmakers and other officials to concerts and other events, has contributed $4.2 million to political campaigns in California since 2006.

That sum includes a relatively small $2,800 to Duvall, who voted Sempra’s way on at least four bills this year dealing with renewable energy and electricity rates.

Duvall, who owns an insurance company, reported $2,000 in gifts from special interests in 2008, including meals, drinks, concert tickets and a Bluetooth headset, but nothing from Sempra.

The Sempra lobbyist he was allegedly referring to in the video was hired by the company six months ago.

Duvall describes the “little eye-patch underwear” worn by one of the women he metions the age gap between the two of them. Duvall says her birthday is July 6 made them 18 years apart. (Kinna sound like a company prostitute now doesn’t it?)I guess he’s into spanking. I didn’t realize women liked it so much. Or I should say, it goes to show how much he knows about women.

Get this: Assemblyman Jeff Miller of Corona, the fellow Republican who listened to Duvall’s tales at the legislative hearing in July, was stripped of his post on the Assembly ethics panel, which is conducting the investigation.

Basically, I could care less, but the fact of the matter is that he was bragging on tax payers time during a July hearing of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and Jeff Miller was playing along.

Oh well, just to letting you know where our lawmakers heads are at. Rule 51 again
